Fodor's Paris 2006 guide For the Exploring chapter, I tackled the Left Bank, Île St-Louis, and Île de la Cité, detailing such things as the gargoyle-lined ramparts of Notre Dame, a coherent strategy for getting through the Louvre in an afternoon or day, when to visit the Eiffel Tower (or Tour Eiffel for you French diehards). I also updated information on everything from the Musée du Vin, devoted to wine, to the Musée de la Marine, devoted to France's maritime history. For the Sports chapter, I revisited the city's health clubs, spas, and bike rental shops, investigated the latest on bike lanes and jogging routes, and more. |

Fodor's Paris 2005 guide In the "Books & Movies" section, I profiled a range of films, French or otherwise, set in Paris, including drama, children's films, musicals, and other essential pre-Paris-visit viewing. For books, I included a broad cross-section of Paris-related fiction, food writing, children's literature, history, and memoirs. For more information, see my updates section. |
